Getting to the Church

West Jackson Street is located on West Jackson Street in Tupelo, MS. Please click on the guest link for driving directions.

How Do I Dress?

Dress comfortably. While some attendees do wear their "Sunday best," most folks wear casual and comfortable clothes on Sunday morning. Wednesday nights are always casual. Don't worry about what you wear--just come expecting a great experience!

What Do I Bring?

If you have a Bible, bring it with you to church. Our Pastor, Bert Harper, provides sermons to which you will want to take notes, and a Bible will help you to follow along in worship and in Sunday School.

When Do I Need To Arrive?

Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. The Sunday School hour is at 9:00 am. (See our complete schedule.) Arrive ten minutes before your desired worship/Sunday School time to allow for parking traffic.

Where Do I Park?

We reserve several parking spaces just for guest. Feel free to take advantage of them. Just look for the signs, or ask a parking volunteer or security for information.

Where Do My Children Go?

West Jackson Street has excellent preschool and children's ministries. Hosts at the Welcome Center will assist you in getting your children to their class or department. Just follow the signs. We offer preschool childcare from bed babies through 5 years. Your children (grades 1-6) won't want to miss Children's "Gathering" (which begins at 9:00 am with donuts and orange juice). Sunday School classes are offered for all ages.

What About Security?

We take child security seriously. Each child must be registered before entering a Sunday School class, and both you and the child will be assigned a security tag. The tag must be presented when you picking up your child. You will also be assigned a beeper in case of emergency during your time with us. Additional security measures and personnel are on campus to ensure the safety of every attendee.

To our potential guests: We hope you will find West Jackson Street Baptist Church to be a warm family of friends. For your convenience, here's a map showing you where we are in Tupelo, and if you'll scroll down under the map, you'll find easy driving directions.

Once you've made it to our campus, simply follow the signs to the Welcome Center, where you will be greeted and directed to one of our many Sunday School classes, or to the Worship Center.

If you're coming from the north, the Saltillo/Barnes Crossing area, come south on Gloster Street to West Jackson Street. An Amoco convenience store marks the spot. Turn right and drive until you see us. We're several blocks down on the left.

From the south, the Verona area, come north on Gloster Street. After you cross Main Street at the railroad tracks, you're only a few blocks from the turn onto West Jackson Street. An Amoco convenience store marks the intersection. Turn left and drive until you see us. We're several blocks down on the left.

From the west, the Pontotoc area, drive east on Main Street. After you pass Wal-Mart on your left, watch for Lumpkin street and turn left. Turn right on West Jackson Street and you'll be to us in no time.

From the east, the downtown Tupelo area, proceed on Main Street until you get to Gloster Street at the railroad tracks. Turn right and watch for an Amoco station on your left to mark the intersection of Gloster and West Jackson Street. Turn left onto West Jackson and drive until you see us. We're several blocks down on the left.

Discovering West Jackson is a class offered to prospective and new members of West Jackson Street. All new members are strongly encouraged to participate. This course will walk you through why we exist, who Jesus is, the history of West Jackson Street and our core values. It is a one hour course intended to introduce you to who we are. Class 201

Devotion Class is a class offered as second base on in the Grand Slam Discipleship process. It is a class that will look at the importance of growing in the Lord and the importance of spending corporate and private worship with the Lord. Class 301

Developing Class-"The Body Life Journey" is a class offered for all members of West Jackson Street, especially new members. This course is intended to help find the spiritual gifts, relational styles, and passions for ministry of individuals. By using a ministry directory it is the goal of West Jackson Street to find a place of ministry for every member. This 3 hour course is intended to help you find a place of ministy within the church. You'll also get an overview of hundreds of ministry opportunities available at our church, and see ways you can "plug in" to make a difference. Class 401

"The Net Evangelism Training"is a course intended to help you learn how to share your faith in a simple, effective way. In fulfilling the Great Commission it is the responsibility of every believer to share the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
